WIN Enterprises PL-01039 Network Security Platform
WIN Enterprises PL-01039 is a 1U rack-mount high-performance platform that is easily modifiable to support a range of security applications, including IDS/IPS, firewall, VPN gateway, Unified Threat Management (UTM), antispam, and antivirus. The device's motherboard, the MB-09042, is also available for OEM purchase. These products support single Intel(R) Dual Core(TM) Xeon(R) LV/ULV processors with 667MHz FSB and offer a broad selection of connector cards to meet an OEM's specific I/O requirements.

LitePoint IQmax MIMO, IQwave for WiMAX
LitePoint's IQmax MIMO system targets WiMAX devices with Wave 2 functionality. The mobility adjuncts to the current WiMAX standard (IEEE standard 802.16e-2005) require capabilities beyond those of earlier versions, and LitePoint's new system provides those capabilities. The current WiMAX mobile radio interface uses scalable orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (SOFDMA) and supports multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications technology. The result is greater coverage, lower power consumption, and more efficient spectrum and bandwidth utilization.

TI ADS5474 14-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter
The ADS5474, by Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN), is the industry's fastest monolithic 14-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) at 400 mega samples per second (MSPS). The new ADC offers 11.1 effective number of bits (ENOB) at this speed, enabling high-bandwidth applications such as test and measurement instrumentation, software-defined radio, radar systems and communication instrumentation that were previously confined to lesser resolution ADCs.

Freescale Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Freescale Semiconductor offers a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) that contains a capacitive pressure sensor for ultra-low power consumption and precise sensing. Freescale's MPXY8300 system-in-package device provides a highly integrated, cost-effective solution that combines an advanced pressure sensor with an 8-bit microcontroller (MCU), 2-axis accelerometer, and radio frequency (RF).

EnOcean STM 110 Wireless Sensor Module
The EnOcean STM 110 module is a wireless, battery-free sensor transmitter that integrates all sensor functions into a single module. The module targets OEMs developing products for commercial building monitoring and control, industrial processes, lighting control, automated metering infrastructures, and home automation. The EnOcean STM (Sensor Transmitter Module) 110 harvests and stores solar energy, converts DC to DC efficiently, measures incoming data with ultra low power electronics and transmits via radio signals.

In its continuing commitment to lead the industry in capacitance technology, KEMET Corporation (NYSE: KEM) announces the release of the first-ever 35V rated surface- mount polymer tantalum chip capacitor.

MKS Instruments Acquires Privately Held Yield Dynamics
MKS Instruments, Inc. (Nasdaq: MKSI), a leading worldwide provider of monitoring and control technologies for improving productivity in semiconductor and other advanced manufacturing processes, announced that it has acquired privately held Yield Dynamics, a provider of yield management technology based in Sunnyvale, California. The acquisition is expected to be slightly accretive going forward, and is not expected to materially affect MKS' near term financial results.

ArcSoft Unveils Embedded Imaging Solutions at 6Sight Future
ArcSoft, Inc. announced three new embedded software imaging solutions at the 6Sight Future of Imaging conference. The solutions optimize photos taken in common situations encountered by amateur photographers, and are available as software development kits (SDKs) for digital cameras and camera phones.

Solicore to Demonstrate Embedded Power Security Solutions
Every day, businesses, financial institutions and consumers rely on computer networks for sensitive tasks, sending private information across the perilous cyberspace—an area haunted by identity thieves. This reliance on electronic networks to facilitate secure transactions and their highly-publicized breaches has led directly to an imperative need for increasingly sophisticated security systems in the form of Powered Cards and Dynamic or One Time Password (OTP) security cards. ON Semiconductor Acquires ADI's CPU Voltage, PC Thermal Monitoring Business
ON Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: ONNN) announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire voltage regulation and thermal monitoring products for computing applications from Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI). Pursuant to the agreement, ON Semiconductor will acquire certain assets and intellectual property related to the product line and will enter into a one-year manufacturing supply arrangement for a total consideration value of approximately $185 million in cash. This amount also includes consideration for the one-year manufacturing supply arrangement. These products represented approximately $80 million in revenue for ADI through the twelve months ended Nov. 3, 2007.

Dolby Laboratories Acquires Coding Technologies
Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Coding Technologies AB, a privately held provider of audio compression technologies for the mobile, digital broadcast, and Internet markets, for a purchase price of approximately $250 million net of cash. This acquisition will broaden Dolby's technology portfolio and expertise for emerging low-bandwidth media applications. The acquisition is expected to close very soon and the closing mechanics are currently in process. Certain minority equity interests of Coding Technologies will remain outstanding and will be subject to mandatory buyout procedures under Swedish law.

Pace Outsources Set-top Box NPI, Prototyping to PartnerTech
Pace Micro Technology plc (LSE:PIC), the leading independent developer of digital TV technologies for the global pay TV industry, has selected PartnerTech, one of Europe's leading contract manufacturing companies, to provide a fast-turnaround new product introduction (NPI) and prototyping service covering its market leading range of digital set-top boxes. The business will be fulfilled from PartnerTech's UK facilities in Poole and Cambridge.

Virginia Tech, TORC Technologies Place Third in DARPA Urban Challenge
Virginia Tech, along with TORC Technologies, won the $500,000 third place prize last weekend at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Urban Challenge. In a close race with teams from Carnegie Mellon and Stanford universities, the Virginia Tech team used National Instruments (Nasdaq:NATI) LabVIEW software and CompactRIO hardware in its vehicle. Virginia Tech's team, Victor Tango, was one of only six robotic teams to finish the 55-mile DARPA Urban Challenge course.

Xilinx Virtex-5 LXT FPGA Wins EDN China Innovation Award
Xilinx, Inc. (Nasdaq: XLNX), the world's leading supplier of programmable logic solutions, announced that its Virtex(TM)-5 LXT FPGA family won the prestigious EDN China Innovation Award for Best Product of 2007 in the Digital IC and PLD category. Atheros Launches AR3031 ROCm Bluetooth SoC for Headsets
Atheros Communications, Inc. Broadcom Introduces 65nm 5-port Gigabit Ethernet Switch

EA Games Run on Broadcom's VideoCore Mobile Multimedia Processor
Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq: BRCM), a global leader in semiconductors for wired and wireless communications, announced that it has signed an agreement with Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) to enable popular EA Mobile(TM) game titles on mobile phones powered by Broadcom® solutions. The game titles will be optimized for the latest generation VideoCore® III mobile multimedia processor from Broadcom that supports high definition (HD) content and a new level of mobile phone graphics performance equivalent to today's dedicated handheld game consoles. This agreement enables EA to deliver games into handsets that contain Broadcom silicon as these handsets come to market.

OKI Miniaturizes Camera Modules for Mobile Phones
Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:6703) announced it has started a contract assembly service for W-CSP (Wafer level Chip Sized Package) semiconductors using through-hole technology. With this technology, OKI's customers such as sensor and camera module manufacturers can now obtain camera modules that are half the size of conventional modules. In September, OKI established a volume production line for through-whole technology based W-CSP assembly at its production site in Tokyo and started operation in October.

CSR Integrates vTuner Internet Radio Portal into RadioPro Reference Design
CSR announced that it has integrated the vTuner internet radio portal into CSR's RadioPro reference design. vTuner is an online service that provides access to over 11,000 radio stations around the world. The partnership with vTuner enables OEMs of RadioPro internet radios to provide their customers with a differentiated product with minimal time to market.

Leadis Technology Samples Charge-pump LED Drivers for Mobile Devices
Leadis Technology, Inc. Roamware Receives Approval for Roaming Patent
The European Patent Office recognized Roamware, Inc.'s thought leadership in the field of international mobile connectivity and roaming by awarding Roamware exclusive patent rights for its invention of a "Method and System for Cellular Network Traffic Redirection" (European Patent Number 1527653). The invention, now embraced by the GSM Association's mobile industry standards known as "Steering of Roaming", empowers a mobile roamer's home network operator's system to direct any of its subscribers to roam on its preferred roaming partner's network when using their mobile phones abroad.
